INDIA: BAPTISMS FOLLOW SPIRITUAL BREAKTHROUGH; MEDICAL CAMPS AID DIABETICS, VISION-IMPAIRED & LEPERS

182 people gave their hearts to Christ following Gospel meetings in Andhra Pradesh in February 2008. Read below to see how medical care, food, clothing and a means to earn a livelihood were ministered to the poor, and how a spiritual breakthrough resulted in nearly 30 people being baptised in one remote village in the grip of idol worship.

By Pastor Ch. Charles Finney of Autumn Rain India, Andhra Pradesh, India. March 2008

God’s Weather Miracle

God has done wonderful things during February 2008. We held a Pastor’s seminar and evening meetings from 12-14 February. 200 pastors and 100 Bible women participated in this seminar. This seminar was really helpful for the pastors and Bible women to learn more from the Word of God and so help to them to win more souls for the Master. We were also held meetings during the night. One day, the weather was inclement before the seminar and meetings. We prayed to God for favorable weather and God answered prayers of many: the weather improved and we were able to proceed with the three day seminar and meetings. This is indeed a  wonderful thing the Lord did, because there were heavy downpour rains and strong wind in our surrounding villages and towns due to typhoon in Bay of Bengal. But by God’s grace, there was no rain and no wind in the place where we held three day seminar and meetings. Our God was glorified among the non-Christians through this remarkable miracle.

Souls Saved

182 people were got saved through these three days of meetings and gave their lives to Jesus Christ. They accepted Him as their personal Savior. God has untied them from the bondage of idolism and He gave them new life and now they are children of the living God through His precious blood. Please do pray for them and for their spiritual growth. They are face many challenges from their families just for one reason: that they came out from the darkness and they came to know who real God is.

Baptisms Follow Spiritual Breakthrough

By the grace of God we held a one-day meeting on February 11 in a remote, interior area – one of the many interior villages where we minister the Gospel on a regular basis. God did wonderful things during this one day, and 15 people were baptized. In December 2007, 12 people were baptized at this same place. They had been resistant to baptism until the Holy Spirit fell on them after the preaching of the Word. Now, a further 15 have been baptized, in addition to the first 12 who were baptized at the time of this spiritual break-through last December. The gospel of Jesus Christ spreads out from village to village and it releases many of them from the demonic strong holds of idol worship. This was what was holding them back from taking the step of baptism. There millions and millions are still in darkness and we pray for their salvation. Please do pray for our nation.

Medical Camps for the Poor

By the grace of our God and by generous support of the Saints like you, we donated 30 sewing machines for poor & widow women, who are left destitute as there is no social welfare system. We also distributed 250 sarees for poor & widow women. We also conducted a free eye camp and free Diabetic camp for 350 poor men and women. We provided free medicines and gave 125 eye glasses that were needed for good vision. We also donated 15 cataract operations to those who could not afford it.

These two medical camps were a tremendous help to the poor people who are unable to go to hospital due to lack of money. Please do pray that more medical camps can be held in this year. If you know of any believers from the West who would like to sponsor such a camp, of would like to participate in one, please tell them about us and invite them to contact us.

Blankets for Lepers

We also distributed 150 blankets to people suffering from leprosy. These poor people are on streets and have to beg money for food. The life of such people is so miserable. The terrible disease separates them from the love and support of their family. But God’s love is so wonderful than any other in the World. We thank God for His great love at calvary.

A Father to the Orphans

By the grace of our Lord and by your mighty prayers our school and orphanage are going well. God has provided new uniform material for 200 children and the tailor make their dresses within few weeks. The 75 orphanage children are growing in spiritually and physically. Before they came to orphanage, they did not know even one song but now they sing many songs both in English and Telugu. They wake up in the morning for prayer and sing to God that this is the day this is the day that Lord has made. And another song that God’s love is so wonderful. There is one little boy name Prasad. He never knew the love of his father because his dad died from AIDS when he was only small. But now, he has a big Father and His love is everlasting and this little boy is growing in the love of the Lord and His wisdom. We believe that one day these children would be used by God in a special way. We thank God for the sponsors who extend their love towards these needy children. All 75 children in the orphanage always pray for their sponsor parents and for their families. Please do pray for them for their bright future. The school children are so happy because they have got new benches and desks so no more sit on floor. They have got them through the generous support of our sponsors. We thank God for all the sponsors and their families for their love and kind towards the needy people.

Please do pray for the needs in our ministry.

  • Pray for our churches and 22 pastors and 15 Bible women and also for their families.

  • Pray for our country and for revival in our churches

  • Pray for 25 more sewing machines for poor and widow women who still need for them. They have already completed training from our Grace Tailoring Centre and we would love to bless them with sewing machines. This would allow them to begin their own micro-enterprise and enable them to earn a living to meet their daily needs.

  • Pray for 20 bunk beds for orphanage children. They sleep on floor and it would be better if they have beds.

  • Pray for two motor bikes for two pastors who are working in interior places.

  • Pray for 10 cycles for pastors who are ministering in villages

  • Pray for a gospel van for our ministry. We face many problems due to transportation while we reach villages for preach the gospel. It would be a great help to us if we have a van for the ministry. By the grace of God we have good sound system and musical instruments and generator etc. But we could not take them to the villages for conduct meetings and we could not go as team to hold gospel meetings. Please do pray for a vehicle for reach the millions with the good news of Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for financial support for conduct more medical camps in villages for poor

  • Pray for my daughter Nancy in China who is studying medicine and pray for her needs in college. She needs USD$3000 per year. Out of her class of 68 students, she came first in her recent exams.

  • Pray for us and for our family, for spiritual protection under the shadow of His wings.

Once again thank you very much for your prayers and love and kind and also for your generous support towards the Lord’s work in India.
